both sign-in and marketplace not working

Hi, hope someone can help.
I installed and unistalled the Zune software about 5 times now.Â�*Â�*All works except that I cannot get to the marketplace and, clicking on the sign-in button does not do anything at all. Neither does right-clicking.Â�*Â�*Called customer support, they were not able to help.
I am running Windows XPÂ�*Â�*SP2.
It does not seem to even try connecting to the internet at all.
The install went fine each time but I never actually was asked to create a zune tag.Â�*Â�*No error messages during install.
Has anyone experienced this or does anyone have an idea on how I can get this to connect?
Any help would be appreciated.

Have you tried connecting your zune after the software was installed?

Yes, tried it with the Zune connected - same problem.

When you click the marketplace, Do you get anything? Do you get a message that says "Your Computer Is Not Connected"?

No, nothing at all. When right-clicking the marketplace I see the Open button but it is greyed out and cannot be used, either.

May sound silly. But are you 100% sure you were connected to the internet every time you've installing the software?

Yes, 100% sure. I mean, the browser was not open but I was definately connected to the net.

How strange.. I have no idea what could be going on.. Something you could try is to download the zune software from the website and try installing it from that file.

yeah, tried that one already, too. It drives me nuts trying to figure this out.

I got it to work.....I upgraded from IE6 to IE7. Now all works perfect.

I was going to say check your firewall,that could of prevented it from opening.
