Default How do I remove songs off of my Zune device?

On some of my albums that I recently added to my Zune device, there are duplicate songs, because a couple of the songs seemed to have synced up onto my device when I first hooked it up to my computer. I tried going into my computer, and it doesn't show my Zune device. And I tried deleting the songs off from my Zune library on my computer, even though the songs don't show up duplicate there. Neither of those worked. Is there anyway to remove the media off of my Zune device? Because if not, that's kind of really dumb and frustrating.

I don't have a Zune yet, I am waiting for one in the mail. I did download the software and it seems what ever shows up in the Zune software will be synced to Zune right? So, if you delete it out of the Zune software it will be removed from Zune device, I am thinking.

You can delete a song picture etc and choose to remove from software only and keep on drive or remove completly.

Go to options>sync>more options select device Tab and uncheck "when deleting playlist from device......" Then when you select delete you will get a choice to delete from software only or completly delete.

DUI is correct, but make sure you are looking on the Zune device, and not within your Library, or you'll accidentally delete the song from your computer as well.
I did it several times by mistake.

When you right click a song to delete it from the library it gives you the option to delete from library or delete from library and computer. I had this issue with pictures that i had stored in my documents and in the shared documents section on my computer. I simply removed the items from the library not the computer and resynced and the item is off the zune but still on the computer. There is a check box in the options for searching folders to ignore content deleted from library you need to make sure this is the case or the stuff will keep comming back when the zune software syncs with the pc and it will go back to the Zune when it syncs with the library.

Default Duplicate Albums and Songs

I think what dhanosuzuki is saying is that there are duplicate albums/songs on the Zune device that don't show up on the Zune software. I am having the same problem. For instance, I have two artist listings on my device for "Of a Revolution," one listed as OAR and the other as O.A.R., both with the same songs. However when I sync the device to the software the device library only shows the O.A.R. version and I have no way of removing the OAR listing. Any help??

You have to make sure that the name of the group is the same through all the track listings. If not you'll get a bunch of different artist names. I go through and change all mine to the same. I had Rob Zombie, White Zombie and Rob Zombie / White Zombie all from the same album.

why are people so persistent of posting in this old thread? The problem was solved with previous posts already.

High.

You want your Zune to hold some, but not all your library files:
