A ".torrent" file used by the BitTorrent client or other peer-to-peer programs that use the BitTorrent protocol.

o.O... this question again.

how about I answer it.

A torrent is a file... that you download... and it triggers your torrent client to start downloading what you are trying to get.

you need a torrent client. Get utorrent... or azureus. there are lots more but I don't wanna post 'em all.

then you'll have to allow the client through your firewall on your antivirus.

then you'll have to port forward on your router/modem.

then you should be able to download a torrent.

its not hard to setup... it's just confusing the first time.

Oh and I'll add on to what Gold.N.God said.
Torrents aren't just a file, they are more like a zip file full of things, like discographies of artist, i.e. every song they recorded. It allows you to get a massive amoutn of file in one file, and while you are downloading the torrent, if one of the songs gets to 100% before the torrent is done, you can still listen to it, while therest of the songs are downloading.

i use teh newest version of flashget 2 dl torrents. it dls faster than azerues i think. my router has a firewall so it dls slower in azerues but in flashget theres no problem. plus i use flashget 2 dl other files too.

aslo tho teh newest torrents always dl teh fastet. torrents r good for new stuff but if its old itll tkae u a long time.
