After installing the new Zune software I noticed this morning that my computer was running much slower. I checked the Task Manager and found that not 1 but 3 zune programs were running and I was unable to shut down any of them. Task Manager forbid it. These 3 programs continue to run at all times even when I am not using the zune software. So basically I am pissed about this, my computer is running rather slow now and there is no way to fix it. Once I hear back from zune I will post their solution to this problem.
Zune.exe - 165 megs of ram
ZuneLauncher - 4 megs of ram
ZuneNss.exe - 21 megs of ram
Interesting. I wonder if it's remediable, or just the way it is.

Ya, hopefully it's a bug. I'm not feeling the ram suckage.

I expected Zune to sync with WMP. the Zune software is 99% the same as Windows Media Player 11. It's ridiculous why they make you have two programs that do almost the exact same thing. Zune software even changes your MP3 file associations AWAY from Windows Media Player and associates them with Zune.
To allow data transfer you have to have some form of buffer. However if you'd like to drop how much memory it is, press control+alt+delete, go to processes, from there right click whichever processes you'd like to have less prioirity, and take them down to a lower level. However this may change afew things about how the programs operate, or stop the programing from operating at all.
Yes I have ZuneNss also up constantly in process, labeled NETWORK SERVICE. I can end process but it comes back instantly. Odd. My software is not from CD, however.
4.5 hours later my computer is fine again, now the only thing running is the ZuneNss.exe. Now it is taking up less space and things are back to normal. But I still dont like it running all the time. Feels like spyware or something.

Heh, iTunes does this, as well as my old mp3, the Olympus MR:100.
It is a memory hog at times. Especially when browsing the marketplace. But its still double the speed of iTunes. I've got a gig of ram on this notebook so it doesn't effect me that much when doing simple tasks.
