RE: Zune Software = Ram Killer
The ZuneNSS process is related to the sharing feature. I think that if you selected to share during initial setup (music was selected as default) that the process will always be running, and if you unselected that option to share it won't be running. You can stop the service from the command line too if task manager is giving you troubles. net stop zunenetworksvc
The ZuneLauncher.exe process is there to pick up when your device is connected. It does sorta what the name indicates, it launches the Zune software when you connect your device, which if you have an autosync partnership will kick off sync too when the software opens. Kind of a cool feature if you're lazy like me.
The ZuneEnc.exe process is used during conversion of files during sync. It's not really the encoder itself, but a process that is used. I see this fire up when I need to convert my H.264 files to wmv, and then goes away eventually.
The Zune.exe process is the meat, main zune process. When I first imported my library and it was searching for album art in the background this process took up quite a bit of memory but eventually freed up more and more. It looks like if it's taking up memory it needs it to do something.
