two questions...connecting and zune program....

Hey I have a brown zune 30 and I recently went on a trip around the world. Zune worked perfectly. I get home and See there is a software update for the zune program (no idea how old this is.) Every time I download it, it fails. Whats up?(Can't Download the required Components from Microsoft Update. Is the error message I'm getting.) And I want to take my videos / pictures from the trip and show my family on my TV. How do I go about doing this? What plug do I need and how much does it cost? Or is there another way to do this?
