Exclamation Cannot reformat Zune

My Zune 30 started to have this problem where the right part of the D pad starts to fast forward through all my music and stuff without me touching any of the buttons. It does this once in a while but then doesn't stop until I reboot it or put it into lock mode.

It's become more frequent and I've tried to drain the battery, reboot, and now I've decided to wipe the fireware and see if it helps.

HOWEVER. When I follow the instructions to re-initialize the disk, the second set of buttons (back, left, ok) don't seem to work and I've tried all sorts of timing combinations but it just only reboots.

Any help? I'm careful with my zune so I honestly don't think it's a hardware problem, plus the problem only comes up once in a while so it's probably a software glitch.

this is almost definitely a hardware issue. You probably have something stuck in your zune pad, or the cable has come loose. It doesn't matter how careful you are with electronics, they will almost always eventually break. The only thing i can think of to fix this would be to dissassemble the zune, and make sure nothing got in there somehow.
