Jesus Christ, fail thread XD

It sounds like your hard drive. That would explain the click....

If you could give use more information, that'd help.

Mine is doing this exact same thing! I plugged my Zune into my computer the other night to charge it. It also updated all the software. The next morning, I unplugged it to use it in my car and it just does what's going on in the video. The only difference is that I don't ever see the battery symbol appear. Just the rebooting over and over. If I leave it unplugged, it's unresponsive except when pushing the play button. Then it flashes the Zune symbol for 1 second and shuts right back off. This has been going on for a few days now.

I called tech support, but they weren't quite understanding what it was doing and told me it was bad and offered to sell me a 120 for $179. I'd rather see if there is some other fix out there for the one I have though. Any help?

Do this when the bar is scrolling across the screen

Press and hold the back + center + left buttons and the zune will delete everything it has on it, as well as the firmware.

Then reconnect the Zune. See if that works.

I suggest if you have any media on your Zune that is not backed up, do NOT do this.

Thanks for the advice. I'm doing what you said right now. When I connect my Zune in, the software starts up and says an update is required. I start the update and it gets to step 3 of 4 and just stops. My Zune kept starting and restarting over and over on this step and just stopped altogether as I'm typing this. Do I unplug it when it hasn't finished? How do I restart the update from here?

This is frustrating. I've been reading through the forums and I've quickly come across 4 or 5 other similar cases, but nobody seems to have ever experienced this before and tech support doesn't know what I'm talking about.

I try that. This How to restore your Zune device software.

But i don't time to do, when the bar came, e press the buttons and, ups restart ! i don't have a possibility to do.

I will wait for a new (just broken screen) and try to replace and find and what doing here. "I'm a doctor xD" a found the cure xD

Thanks people and White92 when know that is the problem i post here ok.
Maybe i can help you or try.

Hi people!

I'm not find the security Fix because are can't try i keep wating the Old Zune xD.
But i'm reading in many foruns and find sameone say

" Restarting is an indication the unit could not recover from a serious error. That could be a corrupted song file, or a firmware error. " and "The disk drive making repeated clicking noises indicates it is 'seeking' unsuccessfully."

This guy say maybe the problem are in Battery because one guy say

"I got it to work! I simply bought a replacement battery for zune 30 on ebay for ~$8, and I tried it, and voila! It works now! Anyone having the same issue, you should definitely give this a try!"

If you have a possible time to try this, do!

But try this first
Becarefull This will erase everything on the disk.

go to:
How to restore your Zune device software

and if you have the Zune 30GB

first:
Button "return" and "UP"

after that and quicly do:
Button "return" and "left" and "Zune(center)"

You read a same text said: "CLEAN please wait xD"

and after that try to sync in Zune Software to re-upload the firmware.

If that can fix the problem, try to buy a new battery.
or wait when have the Zune to know the problem is.

Thanks and Try carefull
