play and back are the only two butttons that work how can i fix it?

Take apart the Zune and clean out around the dpad.

Never take apart the Zune if its still under warranty. If it is under warranty, make sure all your media is backed up somewhere, and send it off. If not, iPod Repair, iPhone Repair, and Zune Repair is your best bet, unless you do want to take it apart >.<
