[SOLVED] Zune 30 will not automatically connect

My Zune 30 will not automatically turn on and connect to sync. It shows a full charge, and when I place it in the docking station to connect, it doesn't connect and I get a repeated connecting sound similar to when a USB connection is made with a PC. Current firmware is 3.1. I have had this Zune since 2008 and it has worked fine up to this point. Any suggestions?

I solved the problem by uninstalling the software and then reinstalling it. That allowed the Zune 30 to communicate with the software.
