[SOLVED] 30Gb Gen 1 freezes at logo/boot screen

I have one of the first Zunes, brown and 30GB. It was fine and now it locks up at the logo/boot screen after the progress bar completes. It won't let me reset, and the back+center+left or back+center+right options don't work, either. It shows the plug when charging, goes to the boot screen, then locks up.

I've seen some posts here with similar issue but no final solution. Please help -- it's been a great device for so long but now it's in iPod Paperweight mode.

Let the battery die and then try it.

Over the last two days I've let the battery drain four times and then plugged it in to see what happens. I even watched it recharge once to try to "catch" it in mid-progress bar to reset... No dice.

Back + up. Try that.

It won't allow me to do any dialpad/button combos. It is totally locked.

**UPDATE** When I connect via the sync cable to my computer running Vista, it will charge but is not recognized as a USB device.

Solved!! The Zune was still not being recognized by my computer, but it did charge up so I watched it until the "plug" (charging) icon turned into the boot screen. As the progress bar was completing, I quickly hit BACK+LEFT+CENTER and it went right to the home screen. Yay!!

I'm sure glad for Zuneboards. I didn't know about all the keystrokes.
