Default Organizing Issues

So, I got this rather large new batch of music from a friend, which is all rather unorganized. That means it's all mixed up with my older stuff in my Zune. What I want to do, is to create a playlist that holds all the new stuff, but I don't know how to do that, there's too much of it to do it one by one.

It's in a folder in my computer, but I don't know how to get the files in that folder to one playlist, other than one by one. I tried tagging all the files under one genre, so I could separate the new shiz like that, but that kinda didn't work, the program I used for it started popping out errors and in my Zune player it only showed 9 songs out of like 260 in the genre I tried to give all of them.

Any tips?

If you are running vista, then you can select all the files and then in properties or in the info bar below change the album to all the same. Another method is to open WMP and then create a playlist. Then just drag the files from your folder to the playlist and save it.

(Note this should go in general tech support)

I figured, since this is an issue with that I'm having with the Zune player software, it should go to the Zune help. But whatever.

The thing is, I do not want to change the album name for all of it. I'd really like to keep the album name. And using this program Jetaudio (I have Windows XP, can't change that stuff in properties) just didn't seem to work somehow.

So I'd like to know, if there is any way to get one folder of files into one playlist within the Zune software? Because as you probably know, you can't just drag and drop files from folders in your computer to the playlist (afaik).

The end result that I wish to achieve is that I can somehow listen to all that new stuff I have in that folder somehow, so it's separated from everything else.
And I don't want to change the songname or album of the songs.

Feels rather dumb to have such a fuss about a thing that should and could be simple. But I don't want to do it one by one and I haven't found a solution yet on my own.

That's ok. If you use Windows Media player to drag and drop to create the playlist, you can put it in the music folder or playlist folder... Whatever you have named them and Zune will recognize the playlists

Heh, that worked perfectly. Should've tried it before.
Thanks for the help

You're welcome. Just remember: Always think outside the box; that's where your answer will usually be.
