[SOLVED] It is finally fixed

My son's zune is not being recognized by my pc at any usb ports. I have recently formatted my computer and after installing everything over again the last thing I loaded was the zune software. At first we used the updated software and the icon in the left corner said no zune detected. So we proceeded to try all of the ports over and over and nothing. We have uninstalled and reinstalled the software, the drivers, even the original cd without being connected to the internet. I have read all of the fixes and tried everything there is out there. I have windows xp sp2 I have updated and updated and I cannot for the life of me figure out what is going on. Everyone keeps saying that tech support does not help. I have finally ordered a new sync cable to see if that is the problem, but I am thinking not because it sync's with the xbox 360 just fine. When I plug in the other things to my usb ports they work just fine.

Is there something I am missing?

Use UnZoone to remove the old installation and reinstall using the installer package from Zune.net | Download Zune software.

I am still having an issue with my zune. I tried the unzoone software and reinstalled off the zune.net website and my computer is still not recognizing the zune. It seems to be charging though. Could there be a conflict between the zune software and something else on my computer. Also when I installed the zune software it came up with an error involving my video card. Can that be the issue that is making the computer not recognize the zune?

Have you tried resetting the Zune (hold the back button and up on the center button together for 5 seconds until it reboots). If this doesn't work, reset both the computer and the Zune. If none of these work, try calling Customer Service Toll Free at 1-877-GET-ZUNE 6am-9pm PST 7 days a week.

After days of uninstalling and reinstalling everything possible on my computer, my son's zune finally works. I ordered a new sync cable online and the zune works great. (for now) Thank you for all your help!!!
