Screens: Zune Logo with no Progress bar, missing content or file cannot be played.

I've had my Zune for about 6 months now. I had to replace the battery as the Zune had been stored quite a while before it was given to us as a wedding gift.

Since that point, the Zune has had a problem which i've pinned down as Temperature related.

If this Zune is someplace where it can drop below 70 degrees F, IT will not load the firmware. IT loads the Zune logo and then the progress bar will never show up. IT finally goes to the screen where it turns grey and says to contact support.
I got on The forum here and learned to do a hard reboot to get around that. Most of the time it will load the user menu... Sometimes it will not. If it loads, and the Zune hasn't warmed up, it will say that the media is missing or cannot play.

I figured out that Temperature thing because if I let it reboot laying on a table top, it will not play anything (and most often it won't boot)

IF I get pissed and put it in my pocket while it times out a failed start, I can restart it, and because it is now at body temp, it will function flawlessly.
Also, if I get it to start playing, and hook it to the stereo at work, where it can cool back down, IT will play about 20 songs and then back to the "Missing content or cannot be played"

Is there any hope for this? Is this a hardware or software problem?

So I'm guessing there is no hope for this? It just sucks because I spend more time trying to coax it into playing than listening to it.
