EDIT:

Well, it seems they are not open at 1:00 AM.

But I did find here that, since none of the button combinations are working, the next step is to let the Zune sit until it runs out of battery. Hopefully a call to Microsoft in the morning will get things going a bit faster.

strange i just joined up here because my zune froze and it looks like everyone is having the same problem. Strange mine wasn't even hooked up how did this happen?

damn necrox00x, i nearly started the software to see what was up.
glad i didn't.

i really hope this is an easy fix, i love my zune but can't afford to upgrade right now.

i went to the zune support site and the link for this problem goes to a dead web page kind of convent on their part eh. First my xbox this week and now my zune

I do not have an external hardrive- all of my music is on a 500GB secondary internal drive, which does not have the OS on it.

Did this happen to everyone at 12:00?

OMFG this JUST happened to me... and now im PISSED! OMG ive never had problems with my Zune and ive had it over a year and a half... ALL MY MUSIC is on this.... UGH!!!!!

I just found this forum while searching for a fix for this exact same problem.
This just happened to my Zune 30 about an hour ago, the song I was listening finished, and it appeared to just turn itself off, but I couldn't turn it on. I thought the battery was dead, so I plugged it into my car charger, did the down+back combo, and that brought up the loading screen, but once the loading bar reached the end, it just stayed there, and it's been that way ever since. I've tried all the reset combinations, and just like you guys i've had no luck. Worse yet, I can't use my backup MP3 player because I'm stuck in LA at my parents place through the weekend, and don't have my full music library on my laptop.... Lame
Is this y2k for the Zunes?
