I would just like to say "I told you so" to the astoundingly high number of chicken Little's that have bounced through here in the last 24 hours. I hope your needless panic felt good.

I would also love to through out a big, hearty, HA-****ING-HA-HA-HA!!! to all those that opened their zunes in the pointless hope that fiddling with HARDWARE would somehow fix an obvious SOFTWARE issue. For a group that expresses undying love for your gadgets, you wasted no time trying to kill it. If your grandmother was looking a little ill would you throw her up on the kitchen counter-top for some open heart surgery? Or would you instead make her an appointment with a doctor and wait for the results to come back? Haste makes waste. Your haste wasted future potential. In 6 months there could possibly be a real hardware issue that you will not be in a position to get fixed because you panicked yesterday.

For the sake of diplomacy, I won't refer you to my previous posts in this thread calling for reason and patience. On second thought I will.

I am doing. Just charging it up and syncing it with some new music right now.

It was out for a day, big deal. Nothing worth crying over or even making a big deal out of.

Well I still have an issue, it's stuck on the loading screen an nothing works, draining the battery and charging it makes it the same again

Mine is still frozen. And that IS a big deal. Microsoft has shown with Vista and now Zune that they are incompetent.

Mine is still frozen too. I did let the battery duem then charge it, it went past the loading screen, and instead of going to the menu, I got a black screen, and the it restarted itself. Useless MP3 Microsoft, how ar you going to fix this ?.

If you guys are all going to whine about this baloney then just let your Zune 30GB models run to a properly dead state, then http://www.zuneboards.com/forums/gen...tml#post349400 then sync it with your computer AFTER january 1st 2009. The resulting sync will resolv all problems. THERE WILL BE NOTHING to cry over.

wow i had the same problem but i got it on 12/30/08, it was dock to the ihome ZN9, but then now on 1/1/09 at like 12:25pm my zune just randomly restarted again and worked!!! i am so excited now!!! dont ask me how it happened because i have no clue but its very wierd how the zunes are all dieing at around the same time!? anyway maybe we'll hear about it later on then.

I almost had a panic attack cause my zune wouldn't charge, but then it turned out to be the home charger that is defective, lol. My 30gb booted up fine after i used my girlfriend's.
