i am so sad this has happened.
I had left my zune for about 7 days without turning it on and now that i tried
to turn it on today it just loaded as if it were to turn ok from the zune and it just stayed like that can someone tell me whats wrong with it just turns on and stays like that
MISBELIEF was it really necessary to post that GOD AWFUL VIDEO TWICE? That was the dumbest video I've ever seen. First of all, that guy doesn't even know how to speak into a microphone. Second, all he did was recap the fact that all Zune 30s are frozen.
All 30gb zunes are stuck in booting mode, just let the battery drain, and recharge it tomorrow. It should be fixed by then, sorry. Zune 30's Failing Everywhere
I have a brown 30gb, about 13-14 months old. I have babied the thing most of its lifespan. I probably have only used it for 30 some hours, left it at home during college. I try to turn it on for the first time in a few months, and a few things occur.
First off the device won't turn on, sometimes the battery sign flashes, sometimes it doesn't. I plug it into my computer, it goes to the loading screen, bar goes full and shuts off. I hear the hard drive spin for a second then it just turns off and repeats the loading/shutting off process.
I have done hard resets, nothing. So I ask, anyone have similar issues? This has nothing to do with the recent freeze stuff today.
Also, if it is damaged(I believe it would be out of warranty), should I attempt to repair it with the needed parts, or just toss it and save for another one?
fear not zune 30 users.... this happened to me too. i was recently informed that this has happened to many other zune users. due to 2009 being a leap year it has caused a error in the zunes internal clock. unplug your zune from its charger and let the battery die. Do not plug it in after battery life is drained. wait untill after noon on 12/1/09 and plug it into a charger and when battery amount is sufficient your zune should be up and running..... if your zune does not respond after this then im truly sorry and i have no answer for you....sorry

my pc some how made me post twice.lol. idk it is kinda slow.
Couldn't find anything similar to my issue online so here goes.
I have my zune for a while, I noticed most people have new zunes when encountering similar issues, so just to put that in.
I left it to charge last night, this morning it was frozen on the load up screen, I took it off the charger and tried resetting, didn't work, waited for the battery to drain itself, charged it again untill the screen froze again.
Yet again, I unplugged it waited for it's death, and just plugged it back in and tried unplugging while charging or just when it starts the load up screen.
and again the same process but nothing happens just the freeze.
The Zune software doesn't know it's there. The computer does obviously since it's charging it.
I've tried all possible key combinations for anything and even ones that don't do anything.
I've tried the hold button, pretty much anything you can think of.
I don't have a wall charger only computer cable.
I left it for a few hours if it wants to rest or whatever and it's still the same.
