ok. i disconnected the battery, re-connected, restarted (back and up) then did a hard reset (select, left and back) and it got stuck on the clearing content screen, so i disconnected and reconnected the battery, and it prompted me to connect to zune softwear, i tried to update, and it sort of did, flashed the home screen and went to the battery charging screen (picture of battery with plug) i let it sit like that for 10 minutes or so, unplugged from computer, disconnected battery, reconnected and gues what???? right back where i started. fuuuuuuuuuuuuuck bill gates in his loose bunghole.
so u unpluged battery, reuploaded and you turned the clock off on the zune?? its working perfect?
yeah it formated, the clock is off by default, but wireless is on so i turned off and made sure computer was not connected to internet before opening zune software. you have to be quick with pressing the buttons after you plug back in, but leave it out for a couple mins.
Blasted Zune! no updates yet that ive found, about the issue. OH!!! I know how to fix this.....MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! MICROSOFT HURT ME!!!

lol lets all do this mom always make things better lol
Many seem to think this is a firmware glitch linked to today's date, but my Gen 1 30GB Zune clock only showed the TIME, not the date. Am I missing something?
BTW, I tried the battery disconnect trick and got it to restart and was able to turn off the clock function, but then had to restart because of a low battery. I got past the Zune startup screen -- then to a BLANK screen! After multiple battery disconnects and reconnects, I still can't get past the blank screen.
I said it earlier -- we're all SCREWED! Buh-bye Gen 1 Zune...
