OK what the heck... can someone please help me???

OK here is the deal, I am new to Zune and I am about to throw it off a mountain!!

First a rant... I think it is stOOPid that the Zune software does not allow me to sync everything with out compression. It sould just sync, if the format is the correct type (ie: mp3, mp4, wma, etc) regardless of size, bitrate, Frames, and so on... this pisses me off...

Know with that said, here is what I need help with...

I have converted all my videos to the following format with a video converter...
WMV 2 QVGA
320x240
1.5Mbps
30fps;
With WMA audio up to...
192Kbps
44.1kHz

The zune still takes FOREVER and a day to sync, it says it's converting videos... I know this has been covered many times, that where I got the above settings but it is still converting.

What do I need to do to make the Zune sync at a decent speed?

I have the Zune 30.

it always does, no matter what format that the zune uses it still says "converting" as it does with podcasts. It probably isnt, but its still got to get it on and for a movie that always takes 5 mins.

yeah it's always gonna be like that unless you split the video into little pieces it will take a very long time

Well that's retarded... Do you think we'd be getting 30gb, 80gb, 120gb, etc...
If we were worried about drive space at a price of quality reduction !!

Believe it or not, the Zune only has a 240x320 screen. It can only play up to a certain quality of video without converting. Space is not the issue, hardware restrictions are. The Zune needs files to be standardized to play them quickly, and above all, to play them period. Just a jumble of different formats, sizes, etc. would be a nightmare for any PMP not deovted solely at videos, and even then maybe. So don't complain, that's just how things work. If you don't like it, I'm sure eBay would love to have your business, and you can get on with your life.

You act like Zune was the first device to use 240x320 as a display size, and sync data for that matter!!

I know about files formats and size and frames per second and blah blah blah...

I was simply saying they should do something about the slowness, I've owned about every device there is and I have never had a device take so long to sync.

Plain and simple, I sync'd the exact same data and playlist to my iphone and it took like 10 minutes to sync from nothing to sync'd. My Zune took about 4 freaking hours...

I am not hating on the device... I aint hating on you... I am just saying something has got to be done otherwise ipods will continue to own the portable media device realm.

As I said, if you don't like it, you don't have to use it. But that's the way things are. Unless you want to wait for Microsoft to change the Zune, it's going to be like that, and you'll have to accept it. I never said you hated on anything. I simply stated that if you don't like the sync times and if it's enough of an issue to complain about, you are completely free to simply not use it.
