VERSION OF ZUNE
====================== 30 VERSION OF ZUNE SOFTWARE/FIRMWARE ===================================== Umm 1.3 I think? I had downgraded from the then new V2 OPERATING SYSTEM ====================== Win XP Pro PROBLEM DESCRIPTION ======================= During the long process of moving, I havn't used/charged my zune since May 12th of this year. I tried back in July, but the screen stayed black. Then I noticed silver wire stuff around the edge of the USB end of the sync cable. I know I should get a new one, but money is tight right now and I cannot afford to buy a new one. And I have no credit card, so I can't buy a 3 dollar one online. So I reallllyyy hoping its fix-it-yourself-able. THINGS ATTEMPTED SO FAR =========================== Changed the silver thing on the usb end of the sync cable, push a loose black wire back into socket and pray that it works. :/ Now that silver wire is pushed back all the way and a white string is just..there. HAVE YOU SEARCHED ONLINE/ZUNEBOARDS TO FIND A SOLUTION? ================================================== ======== Yes. HAVE YOU RECEIVED ANY ERROR MESSAGES? ======================================== Nope. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

im sorry but that cable, unless you know what your doing, is done with. if you know any friends that have a zune, use their cable to see if your zune is still chargable so you dont waste your money first.
Maybe someone that knows how to fix the cable will reply soon.

You mean the wires inside of the sync cable?
Yes, different colors. Red, White, Green & Black. They are connected to the black thing inside the usb slot. Then there's a white piece of string that just hangs freely. |
