Default USB Connection Problems

I am having a problem that started today with my zune 30. I hook it up to the computer, and then it just makes the connect and disconnect sound while the screen flashes on and off. At first I thought, hey it must be the cord is finally shot, but I tried my roommates cord and it did the same thing. I restarted my computer, same thing. One time it flashed that there was an error installing my new USB device. I dont know whats up...

well all i did was plugged the zune in and it started playing the connecting, disconnecting sounds back to back as if i was plugging and unplugging the cord, but i wasn't. on the screen it would say that the battery was charging, then not charging, then charging over and over again. that's basically what happened.

Did you install the drivers? How did you do it?

Try restarting the computer and then plugging it in again.

Alright, see if the Zune will connect on some else's computer, and one without the Zune software installed.

Hmm...try using this to uninstall the Zune software, then reinstall it and connect the Zune: Remove-it.org > Tools > UnZoone

I had pretty much the same prob.

Try this:

Open your control panel and select device manager. Expand 'Universal Serial Bus Controllers'. There should be a bunch that drop down, and one of them should read 'Standard Enhanced PCI to USB Host Controller'(try saying that five times fast :P). Right click on it and select "Disable." It should do a little act that might take a minute. When it is done- exit out of everything and restart your comp.

When your computer is restarted plug her in and it should behave. Let me know if you have a prob, and I hope it works for you as it did me!

The problem was already solved. Why I didn't mark it as such, I have no idea. *facepalm* Fixed now.
