Angry Weird Song Problem...

Okay, I have the whole timer-staying-on-0 problem, and I'm doing the install games thing to see if that works, but I'm facing another problem since getting the update on my 30.

That is, I have the song "To Be Loved" from Papa Roach on my Zune Software, and it plays normal. However, once I put it on my Zune itself and hit play, it plays like its on speed (with the little chipmunk voice thing) yet it claims to be going at the same amount of time, and this is the only song I've seen to do that with. I've removed the song from my device and re-added it, to no avail.

Help?

*EDIT*

I just finished the update, and it seems to have fixed both problems. I think what the problem is is that earlier I deleted Texas Hold 'em because I have no use for it. =\

It is a bug in the new 3.0 firmware, it's been happening with a lot of others as well.

I don't know what to tell you other than wait until Microsoft fixes it.

Okay, I thought the problem was solved. Evidently, I was wrong. It was fixed for about 2-3 days.. It's back again.

Two of my songs I've noticed now have the uber-fast sounding thing (a la Alvin & The Chipmunks noise), my Zune does not pause when I unplug the earphones, and I have the always-on-0 glitch again. I'm re-attempting my previous efforts of upgrading it and hoping it works for now, until a freakin' long-term solution is found. I know they're working on it, or should be (we don't know for a fact) but this is freakin' bull****. You buy expensive enough hardware and expect it to work to your expectations.

You can try this:
Hold Back-Up to reset the Zune
Hold Back-Center-Left to wipe the HD and firmware
Connect to the computer to reload it

A clean install should solve it. Failing that, however:

Is your only option, sadly. Also, doesn't everyone expect for their expectations to be met? They wouldn't be expectations otherwise. Anyway, good luck in getting it to work.

There's no chance I'm wiping my Zune, I have 2000+ songs on there, and most of 'em aren't on my computer.

But, when you pay for your water, and the next morning you turn the faucet on your sink, and none comes out, are you not pissed off at your water provider? It's because it's a basic agreement that if you pay for it, it should work. If not, then the service you've been given is completely inadequate. In my opinion, Microsoft should not have made this update available until it was proven ready. This great lack of efficiency is beginning to hinder me from buying a 360 anytime soon..

You talk as if Microsoft was God and knew about every single bug, and had no deadlines to meet either. And don't expect that everything you expect will happen. Bad stuff happens sometimes, that's life. And life says that if you won't wipe it, you'll have to wait. Unless you want to try a reverse sync, but I think that DRM's your music.

Wrong. I talk as if I expect things to work when I pay for them, and have every right to blame the company for problems they have caused. And, I do.

And, what's DRM? o_O

Well, there's nothing you can do about it, and I can guarantee you this happens with every company, espcially one stretched as is MS right now. They'll have a bug fix firmware out soon, and that ought to solve it. And if you really have to do something righ now, call 1-877-GET-ZUNE for a warranty replacement. Though they may just tell you to wait too.

DRM means Digital Rights Managament. In other words, the files will only play on that computer, and only in the Zune software-no WMP, iTunes, and so on.

My apologies for coming off as a hostile idiot, but this just sucks. I've had to do this "Install Games" thing about four times now, and the fix only lasts for two days at the most... and I'm just getting sick of it.

i've tried it all (for timer-saying-0 problem)... even resorting to wiping the content & firmware... nothing helped.

hopefully microsoft will fix soon, it's quite a vexing problem./

Try this, it's worked where even drastic methods have failed: http://www.zuneboards.com/forums/zun...microsoft.html

Default Chipmunks

I was having the same issue with the chipmunks on some of my podcast. I did the reset (HOLD back and UP). Everything works as of right now.
