Default Stuck on "connect to PC" screen

I've had my Zune for a while and it worked fine, but then out of nowhere it stopped being recognized by my 360 or my PC, although it was still able to charge. I looked up what the problem could be, and a lot of people had a similar problem, I tried everything I read (trying different USB ports, different sync cables, PC's, going to the hardware tab in my computer and looking for my Zune although it never showed up, uninstalling re-installing software etc.) The very last thing I tried was the button combination that completely deletes everything from the Zune, and now my Zune can't get passed the "connect to PC" screen, because my PC won't read it. I have windows XP SP2, and a 30 gig Zune. I don't have the CD that came with the Zune, although someone told me to try installing it, and that it might fix my problem. I would really appreciate any help.

I installed windows media player 11, after that it asked me to install updates so I did that, in the updates was SP3, then it prompted me to restart so I did, and after that I opened the Zune program and plugged in the Zune and still no luck.

What you could try doing is replacing the Zune drivers.

I tried replacing the Zune drivers, but nothing has changed. I have no clue what could be wrong with my Zune.

Sounds exactly what happened with my Cousin's Zune. It wouldn't be recognized by the Computer at all however it charged just great.

After I tried all I could think of;

Uninstall/Reinstall USB Ports, Reinstall Windows XP, Reset Zune, UnZoone and Reinstall Zune

Nothing worked, so I was forced to call Zune Support. In which case they took the Zune and replaced it.

I've had it for a very long time, would they still replace it?

Possibly.

It's worth a shot.
