My USB wont recognize zune and its stuck on device recovery mode

ok.... well im in device recovery mode.... when i connected my zune it says USB device not recognize... one of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned and windows doesnt not recognize it. then i open zune software, it sends me to device recovery mode. after i click install updates and it finish installing them. it says: Updating device. please do not remove your device. this will take a few minutes and during this part... my zune just disconnects from my computer and restarts..
