Zune Software won't play songs!!!

Maybe I could have worded that better, but I really can't think of a better way to say it.
Basically, I got rid of ver. 3.0 (not because of any problems but because I had to get rid of some things on my computer and chose zune software, only to re-install it later, now where I am having issues). Before getting rid of it, everything worked fine. Now that I have uninstalled and deleted, re-installed, updated... everything works fine EXCEPT I cannot play songs. When I click on a song to play it goes through the process to where it says "*name of song* OPENING...." and it stays there.

For the life of me, I cannot figure out how to fix it. I've updated drivers, registry cleaned, viruses scanned, adware scans.... etc.

Any advice / help is appreciated. Thanks!

I've re-installed the software update before and it didn't help. I forgot to mention that in my post, sorry.
