Wireless synch problem

Hi,

I've had my Zune 30GB for a year now and never been able to get wireless sync to work. I've searched endless forums, FAQ's, MS Support, etc. Any help would be appreciated. My configuration is as follows:

- Vista (fully patched)
- Zune software Version 3.0.532.0
- Zune Firmware 3.0
- Linksys WAG200G ADSL router
- Vista Firewall: confirmed all the exceptions are enabled:
- Windows Mobile-based Device Connectivity
- Wireless Portable Devices
- zune network sharing service
- Zune Wireless Sync
- Services enabled: SSDP, ZuneNetworkSvc, ZuneWlanCfgSvc - all enabled and set for Autostart.

The Zune Software identifies my SSID, but then when connecting (as part of the Settings, Wireless Sync setup), I get the ff error:

"Your wireless settings have been copied to your Zune, but it can't connect to the wireless network..."

My router has no wireless access security enabled. UpNP connections are enabled. Mode set for mixed (A/G). DHCP server is enabled.

Te problem is that the Zune just refuses to connect with the network , even when I force it to do so through the device itself (scanning for networks comes back with no networks found)

I'm starting to think I've been cursed...

I'm having the same problem with my Zune 80 so I don't think it's just you. Hopefully this issue will be resolved soon. Maybe it happened because of the 3.0 update. I never had a problem with wireless sync before and now it's acting up.

I just bought my wife a Zune 8gb and updated everything to current software/firmware. I'm seeing the same issue - it's won't detect my wireless network and I get the same message:
"Your wireless settings have been copied to your Zune, but it can't connect to the wireless network..."

I plugged it into my PC to try to set wireless (which completely fails to setup the wireless with a hard lock error, see below) and also into my laptop which was able to transfer the wireless settings over that it uses. But then the above error results.

If I check the device settings in the Zune software, it says your Zune is already set up to use wireless sync with the correct network name and type listed.

When I check the device itself, under Wireless, Networks, it sits at scanning indefinitely and never finds the connection. Checking under Wireless, Information, the ssid and security type are also listed correctly under the MAC addr. I'm using WPA-PSK (TKIP).

If I try to search for networks in the Zune software, I get an error from either the PC or laptop that the Zune is not responding and I have to disconnect and restart it. (error C00D124D 802A0006). Web help shows no real answer.

I think this is dumb that you can't go into the device itself and edit the network settings directly.

Has anyone else had this trouble and been able to fix it?

BNback Experienced Zuner Join Date: Dec 2007 Posts: 113 Reputation: 21	I'm having the same problem with my Zune 80 so I don't think it's just you. Hopefully this issue will be resolved soon.
