Are you sure it's the jack? Check with different headphones in the same jack, and check with the Zune headphones in a different jack. Also, make sure it is firmly in place, as not pushing it down all the way will cause it to only come out one side.

I'm sure its the Jack this is a problem plaguing most MP3 players, because of the unstable nature of Female and Male eighth inch connecters. When you plug in a headphone you are inserting what is called TRS (Track, Ring, Sleeve) these are the pieces of metal connected to the wires inside the headphones and the device.
When you insert ths there are pin's that touch and transfer the electrical signal to the headphones themselves. when repeated plugging in and taking out of the headphones can cause "significant" damage to these pins causing the loss of signal to one or more earphones.

That or you have a loose wire in the headphones. Try out a couple different pairs and see if they work if they dont the first part of my explaination is most likely true. If they dont work You will, If you still have warranty, call 1-877-GET-ZUNE.

If you don't have a warranty, there's actually a guide for fixing the jack, but DON'T do it if it's only the headphones or if you have a warranty.
