I've owned a z80 for almost a year now, it has been perfect, no problems at all. Last week I recieved a z30 in the mail from Microsoft Club Live Search. This was a year after it was suppose to arrive.
The problem is as follows: Whenever the device is turned on, the zune logo is shown and then it shuts off immediately. When it is plugged into the computer it will turn on, if disconnected it will turn off immediately. If I try a soft reset while it's plugged in and then disconnect it, it will stay on for 20 seconds/until the backlight turns off. I did a hard reset (delete everything and reinstall the firmware) and now when it is plugged in it goes all the way through the zune loading screen and shuts off right before the menu shows up and proceeds to do the same thing over and over until it is unplugged. Any ideas? |

Best Idea. because it sounds like the battery is dead. like not holding a charge dead.

This may be really simple, but try leaving it in the charger and see if it charges. lol. It may not be that, but some original Zune 30's took a very long time to charge. If Microsoft won't replace it, you can always replace the battery yourself
