Default Zune still freezing

I installed the 3.0 update when it came out, but I had freezing problems from the get-go. After reading up on the problem, I did what many threads suggested and completely wiped the HD and firmware, then reinstalling the 3.0 firmware. My Zune continued to have problems, so I tried going back to the 2.5 drivers and firmware but for some reason they wouldn't install. So now after another full HD wipe, using 3.0 again, I am still having freezing problems. None were ever experience before the update. Any ideas?

Does the Zune randomly freeze at certian menues? I need to know when it freezes to help you. Also please identify any vibrations or sounds the Zune itself may be making when this happens, and also right before. Thank you

I do apologize for being so sparse on details. It freezes when I try to change songs going from album to album or artist to artist. If I'm already listening to an album, next track and previous track work just fine. From what I can tell, the HD spins but then stops when the freezing occurs. It doesn't make any sounds or anything.

Does it make sort of a clicking noise? From what it sounds like, it is most likely a software problem. You can try reformatting the Zune, and then installing the firmware update again. All I can say is make sure the Zune is fully charged. Sorry, there's not much you can do.

The Zune is fully charged, and I've already reformatted a total of 3 times. I really don't want to go it again if I don't have to. It's not AS bad as it was the first few times, but it still does it a lot more than it should, which in my opinion should be never.

I don't mean to hijack your thread, But one of my 30g does the same thing. Just random freezing. Very bothersome! I too have tried re-formatting more than a few times.

Nah it's cool, cause if we have more people with the same issue maybe we can find a way to fix it faster.
