The best way of doing this is put all of your music that you want to sync into a folder that's not monitored by the zune program. I usually just create a new folder on my desktop. Once all of your music is in there. Drag and drop the songs into the zune program, and sync. Then go into the folder and delete the music. The songs will show up on the library but they will not be on the computer. However don't delete anything in the library or else it will delete the songs off of your zune.

To add to the last thing, when you plug in your zune, make sure you go to settings and make sure sync the device automatically is not clicked, or you will lose all your music when you connect the device next time! Also, using a simple program, you can get back anything that you have deleted from your computer! So enjoy!

What I do is connect my Zune as a guest. You'll have to download the Zune media collection reset[/url] and run it. After you've downloaded and run that program plug your Zune in, select "Connect as a guest" when prompted and you'll be good to go.
I know how you feel as this bugged me for sometime when I first got my Zune. It was a real pain but now works great. Here is the link, copy, paste, and select the media collection reset: microsoft.com/DOWNLOADS/results.aspx?pocId=&freetext=Zune ![]() |
