XNA problem

I don't know for sure if this is the right place to ask this but I didn't know where I was supposed to. I looked at the topic about how to get zune games working so I downloaded Microsoft Visual C# and XNA 3.0 CTP. Microsoft Visual C# installed fine, but when I tried to install XNA it always comes up with this error message after around a minute:
"Microsoft XNA Game Studio (CTP) Setup ended prematurely due to an error. Your system has not been modified. To install this program at a later time, please run the installation again."

I have no idea what caused this problem or what to do about it since all it says is that it ended because of an error, but it does not tell me what the error is.

Have you installed the latest net framework?

Probably not, I don't know what net framework is, where can I get the latest one?

actually i just downloaded the most recent one and it said I already have it installed.
