Using Zune while connected to pc

While connected to my pc my screen on the zune just says "syncing..." and "connected" is there no way i can mess around on it while being connected to my pc?

if you have the zune software closed, then you can have your zune plugged into the pc and use it. other wise, no

Yep. I use my Zune when it's hooked to the computer all the time so it doesn't go dead on me. You just have to make sure the software isn't active, and in some cases, you can to close the process in the task manager (the auto-launcher thing).
