Default Pulling music from Zune to desktop, need help!

My external HD with all my music files unexpectedly died, taking most of my good music with it. Luckily, the Zune has 90% of my tunes on it still. Kinda like a Zune lifeboat or something. I've got a new HD, so how can I pull the music off the Zune and onto my desktop so I can start to rebuild my library??

There's a hack that let you open your zune as a hard drive. You can use that to copy the music files to your computer.

This doesn't work for me. I had the same problem as Hill8675 above but i've tried the registy hack and the HDHack and neither one seems to work. I get the error

---------------------------
Error Copying File or Folder
---------------------------
Access is denied.

Any help would be fantastic, its a bummer not being able to listen to my music at home.

That hack won't work until you unlock the zune with the zune software.

Try using zAutoUnlocker.

you can use the zune software to copy the music in your zune to your pc, the in the settings botton you con see where the music is saved in the pc, go there and again copy the files to you new hdd.

Hope that works for you.

You do not need to unlock the Zune (on Vista, at least). You only need to unlock the Zune if you want to copy files to the Zune instead of just copying from the Zune. I have never unlocked the Zune either manually or with zAutoUnlocker, and I can copy files from the Zune in Windows Explorer all I want.

This might be because Vista has MTP (Media Transfer Protocol) built into it. If you are using Windows XP, try doing what Gregory suggested.
