My external HD with all my music files unexpectedly died, taking most of my good music with it. Luckily, the Zune has 90% of my tunes on it still. Kinda like a Zune lifeboat or something. I've got a new HD, so how can I pull the music off the Zune and onto my desktop so I can start to rebuild my library??

There's a hack that let you open your zune as a hard drive. You can use that to copy the music files to your computer.

This doesn't work for me. I had the same problem as Hill8675 above but i've tried the registy hack and the HDHack and neither one seems to work. I get the error
--------------------------- Error Copying File or Folder --------------------------- Access is denied. Any help would be fantastic, its a bummer not being able to listen to my music at home. |

This might be because Vista has MTP (Media Transfer Protocol) built into it. If you are using Windows XP, try doing what Gregory suggested.
