Problem with Installing Firmware 1.2! Please Help!

Ok, so I am having the biggest problem installing the firmware. Everytime it goes to install it stays stuck on the "waiting for device to update" for like 30 minutes. By that time I am fed up, so I cancel it and then start again and the same problems repeat. I called the support people and they said it shouldn't be taking me that long. I took down my firewalls, I've restarted the computer, I have no idea how many times I should try this before I give up...
Can someone please help me? I really don't want to return the zune but all it has been doing is giving me problems. Without the Firmware 1.2 installed, the software won't let me sync music or do anything.

By the way, I have dial up. Would that be a possible explanation of why it is taking so long?

have you tried reinstalling the software?

I think it worked because this is the first time I saw percents showing that is was updated, but now I am stuck on the waiting for device to update screen. I think that is already has though. What do the three curvy lines next to my battery on my zune mean?

It worked! Thank You! Now it says something about not having cookies enabled, my internet is set to allow all cookies so I don't understand but besides that it works! I'm so happy!

I tried all that above and more. No worry, I just put a work order in for it to get replaced so Ill be good. Thanx though
