Default Market Place Too Many Computers


Ok, here is my problem.

I had to Do a clean install on my computer do to a Hard Drive Failure.

I use three different computers to access music for my zune. My Desktop at work Since I have good High speed there. My Work Laptop there also, and My desktop at home with Slow High Speed.

Well Since I did the clean install at home, when I TRY to connect to Market Place, I get a message as follows:

You have over 3 computers on this account, Click Rights Management to remove a computer from this account.

I had changed Laptops at work about 2 weeks ago and had to delete the old laptop from zune so the new one would work. But I can not delete anymore for two weeks.

Does anyone know what needs to be changed on my Home computer so Marketplace knows it is the same computer. I tried changing the computer name back to what the old computer name was, but that did not work.

I don't think it's the computer name, I think your IP address is different. There is no way to change this (unless you are very good with computers), if even at all. I'm sorry, but either contact Zune support or I think you're stuck :-[. Welcome to the forums anyways

don't think it has anything to do with IP address as that I know is the same. When you go to Account managment, it lists the computer name, so that is why I thought it might be that.

If you sign into your zune account on the Zune software and go to Account Management, at the bottom there is a link to Rights Management. In there you can go and delete the computer it is not working on and then I believe, you should be able connect.

That's what he is trying to do, but it won't let him delete it for 2 weeks because he recently removed one.....

I would say just contact MS Support, tell them and they could probably fix it or make it so you can delete now.
