Default [SOLVED] What are Steps to Log In as Guest

Hi, I have a question. I am hoping someone can answer with clear and concise, step-by-step instructions to help keep me from losing some or all of the media I have installed on my Zune.

I have seen dozens of posts saying that for the Zune to stop deleting music and movies by itself, I should "connect as a guest". Okay, I would love to!

But here are the ways I have seen on how to set my Zune up to always "connect as a guest", or for the Zune to stop automatically deleting my media, and the fears I have about trying to set up my Zune in that manner.

I have been afraid to connect my Zune for months, since the last time the idiot software decided to remove some of my media (and when I first realized the stupid Zune software wants you to keep copies of your music everywhere in the world, or it kindly deletes it from your Zune for you).
****************************

Solution: Change the settings in the Zune software to always connect my Zune as a guest.

Problem: Most of the media I have on my Zune are no longer on my computer. When I connect the Zune to my computer so I can change the "connect as guest" settings, won't the stupid Zune software delete all my stuff before I can choose the "guest" option?
****************************

Solution: Install a copy of the Zune software on a different user account on the computer, or on another computer altogether. Then connect my Zune, and set it up so that different account or computer becomes my Zune's home. This way my Zune will always be considered a Guest on the other account or computer I normally use.

Problem: When I install the Zune software on another account or computer, don't I then have to connect my Zune to that newly installed program to establish that other account or computer as my Zune's "official home"? And when I connect my Zune, won't the stupid Zune software, being installed all fresh and pretty-like, see all the media on my Zen, see none of the files on the computer, get all uppity about it, and obliterate all my media from my Zune? Because apparently the Zune software gets mighty jealous of the Zune if the software doesn't have all the files on it that the Zune itself does. Stupid jealous software!
****************************

Solution: Turn off all autosync and monitoring folders in the stupid Zune software.

Problem: I did that. And the bastard Zune software still deleted from my Zune some music and movies items that I no longer had on my computer. Why does the Zune software hate everyone and everything? Why can't it just get along???
****************************

So, fellas and fellettes, how can I make sure that the next time I connect my Zune to any computer, anywhere, that I don't lose more of the files that the Zune software so rudely deleted from me in the first place?

Also, what the hell is the point of the Zune deleting files from itself that you no longer have on your computer??? What if I decided to put all my music on an external HD in addition to the Zune, or, shock! amazement! if I simply decided to keep all my music on the Zune? Why on Earth is the Zune software built to self-delete media from the Zune in the first place????

Sorry if this post is long-winded, or ranting, or completely unintelligible or baffling. I am just fed up with being afraid of my own Zune, and would like to shove bamboo under the fingernails of the people responsible for allowing the Zune software to decide when my files should be deleted.

Thanks for any help you can offer, much appreciated!

Thanks, Man..

I was clicking on "Device" at the top left, forgetting to click "settings" first.

However, when I click "Forget This Device", I receive the following error message:

"Can't Forget. The relationship with this Zune can't be cleared right now because its wireless settings can't be cleared. Please try again later."

I am going to delete the Zune software from my computer and reinstall, and will let you know if the "Can't Forget" problem is resolved.

Hey man, thanks for your help, Man.!

EDIT: Yes, uninstalling and reinstalling the zune software did make it so I was able to "forget" my zune so i can connect as a guest.
