Default Disconnect Zune?

Ok, I have another question/problem. After connecting my Zune to my computer it opens Zune software then syncs the Zune. When it says I can remove/disconnect the Zune I unplug it from the cable the the Zune device display still shows the Connected screen. They only way I can clear it is to reset it. Is this normal?

I just wait a little
It probably only takes me 5 seconds until it goes to the main screen

It never stays on that screen for me though

I waited more than a little....

I left it go for about 10 minutes or more and it stayed on the "connected" screen

If it stays on the "Connected" screen for more than 10 seconds, it probably froze. I wonder why this keeps on happening to your Zune... it's fine with mine.

I think my Zune may be defective. Here is what I know now.

If I try to disconnect while the Zune software is running it stays locked on the "Connected" screen. I have to do a reset to get it going again.

If I shut down the Zune Software the Zune disconnects and it works apparently normally.

I have a screen flickering problem. The brightness of the screen changes. Sometimes fast like a flicker and sometimes slow. Almost as if its flickering as its accessing the hard drive.

I'm assuming that none of this is normal. Can you guys verify this for me?

The flickering alone is enough to return it. I'd say return it ASAP and get yourself a new one.

After 3 phone calls to Microsoft Zune support they reccommended that I return the "defective" Zune for replacement. It goes back out in the mail (UPS) on Monday. Now starts the waiting for turnaround shipping........

thanks everyone for all your help. I'll be back to update this post when I get back up and running.

Thanks again
