Default gps system for zune and zune hd

I think a gps system would be a good thing to have,
you could have a world map and after you type your address and
the address you want to go, it gives you the roads you need to take
to get there.

GPS isn't possible on the old zunes.
On the ZuneHD, it's possible they'll come out with an app for it, but as for making our own, no because of the limitations of XNA.

wouldn't the zune HD have to have an internet connection at all times to do this...or open up google maps at home, leave for your location and just keep the website in the background the entire trip.

no use to me since i have GPS but might be cool for others.

Neat idea, the best that could be done is a super slow, wifi based gps, which would be horribly inaccurate do to the fact that its pretty hard to trace an IP address to an exact location, aside from that a Google earth based app would be cool, rendering would take a bit and it wouldn't be able to tell you where you are, but a nice 3d map sounds cool.

There is no GPS receiver in the Zune HD. The best we could get is a ****ty wi-fi based one.
Just realized that itsthatguy wrote this.
^Agreed.

Wi-F* GPS's are an abomination of mankind. It's so bad, I refuse to say it's full name as everytime someone says it's name, something bad happens. Well, if we were to have a Google maps kind of thing, it may be possible, though all it may do is be an atlas with no city-look up feature.
I can't imagine how much memory Google Maps would take up if it was in 100% without using a server. All that sattelite content. (No, when you download Google Earth, it communicates with a server to give you info.)
