Hey, would someone try making Elevator Action (orig. by Taito)? Not an exact replica; but on in compliance with the guide-lines. It's always been my favorite arcade game and if I had an ounce of programming skills I'd give production a try.. Though it doesn't seem like too impossible of a project.
A good description of the game can be found
here
Or read this quick run-through:
Description:
The player assumes the role of a spy who infiltrates a building filled with elevators. He must collect secret documents from the building and traverse the 30 levels of the building using an increasingly complex series of elevators. The player is pursued by enemy agents who appear from behind closed doors. The player must outwit them via force (shooting them) or evasion (hiding in an unoccupied door, going a different way). Successful completion of a level involves collecting all the secret documents and traversing the building from top to bottom. In the lower floors of the building, the elevator systems are so complex that some puzzle-solving skills are needed. One hit kills the player and the enimies, as does being squashed by a elevator. Five lives are given to the player, if he dies with lives to spare then he is placed back to the point of his death and the game resumes.
The being of the game, character climbs onto the top floor then the game begins.
Middle of the "maze", guy in brown is player. The other two guys are enemies, one shooting at him.
The end of the level, upon reaching the bottom floor a get-away car drives up, the character enters the vehicle, and the game begins again on the next level. Also in this shot, our character is being landed on by an elevator, this kills him and he has to restart the level.
Controls: Back: Main menu/exit game, Left: Character goes left, Up: Character jumps, Middle: Character shoots, Down: Character ducks, Right: Character goes right, Play/pause: Pauses the game.
Let me know what you think or if it can't be done.. Thanks.
(Sorry if someone already requested this.. I didn't see any posts on it)
