It might be possible to implement a DOOM-like game, but it would require an intense amount of work and would probably be mediocre compared to the original. A raycasting engine has already been implemented, but it's a bit laggy even with an extremely simple tech demo. The Zune is reasonably powerful, but XNA slows everything down immensely.
It's also been requested a million times before, so please don't request it again.

It's still beyond what we can emulate on the Zune properly.

I think I might have destickied one. Plus, there's nothing wrong with requesting Flash games unless they're übercomplicated.

I have a question about the internet part Cause I have a wireless router and to sync to my PC it connects to the it and for the marketplace you can get to it with the wireless so technically it is possible to add an internet App on it  I am jsut saying that it might be possible since you connect to the wireless and I can connect to our schools' wireless if I figured out the WPA password.

No, it can't. The way in which we deploy games and run them, XNA, does not let us access computers, only other Zunes.

Can the Zune XNA be written to allow for wifi connection to your PC as is done for wireless sync? If so then I have an idea for an app, not a game.
This would be an app(game) to wirelessly control the music being played on your Zune from your computer, as a result this would have both PC and a Zune components. You would turn on the app before plugging your Zune into your standalone charger/stereo/speakers then the app on your PC which would let you pick which songs you'd like to play off your Zune. I was hoping Microsoft would do this but I don't think its even on their radar.
It bothers me so much not having this already on the Zune. I have a really good stereo system which is attached to my Zune's AV dock. When I'm working on my computer and I want to change songs I have to get up and walk over to my stereo and hit next!
Send this idea to Microsoft if you like it and want to see it in software 3.5 for the Zune.

If MS wanted to, they could make XNA capable of this. But they don't want to, that's why it's like that in the first place. In other words, it's not happening, at least not from independant developers.

If by things, you mean games, then yes, in theory, but the games made for the current Zune likely won't work. It will be a different input method and a different screen size at the very least.

I wish they would have made Chess rather than checkers. Also, maybe someone could have a Zune VS IPod chess game, where all the pieces are different Zunes or IPods. Just a thought.
