file browser?

i was wondering if anyone is working on a type of file browser/manager for on the zune. if not, let me know, maybe i will start to work on one, depending on what all can be done, as far as copying, deleting, and/or renaming files.

if not, here it goes:

pretty much, small graphical interface, one pane for viewing files, and up/down to select, left/right for whatever else. center button to bring up menu, and have selections to either delete, rename, make folder, copy to another folder, and move to another folder. also, i was thinking about adding a ID3 tag editor for the mp3's and such. so yea, pretty much this is a request, at the same time, maybe i could hook up with someone to make this possible. i have experience in c++ and stuff like that for linux, and i havent really programmed much in years on a windows platform.

my bad, maybe map the play button to bring up a seperate menu, for the ID3 tags, and to run other applications. so pretty much this would be a file manager, and at the same time a type of commander like in linux.

Not possible, you cant modify, create, or delete anything outside of the current games folder, you cant access ID3 tags either. Dont bother

If that's true, how do the songs that play music know the name?
Access is very restricted though

Because we are given access to the media player, not the files themselves, the files go to the media player and then the media player passes the info back to your program

I understand what you are talking about and the limitations of the Zune.....but isn't what Corp769 is talking about kind of like the ZuneHome project started by TipTup300(to an extent)...From what I understand you can edit, erase, add data to the Zune Home app....or am I not getting something?

No, what corp is talking about is modifying/seeing everything on the zune hd, ZuneHome is 1 application that you can edit the code and add in your own "applications" to it, sort of like minigames for big games. And yes, in that application you would be able to read anything from any of those "minigames" because they are all built into the main application and therefore share 1 game folder(that you can add subfolders to)

You could make a filebrowser that manages it's own files! Yeah!
