Default Need For Speed (Single & Multiplayer racing game)

Features
*While racing, listen to music
*Customize car
*Lots of levels, each with different courses
*Save game progress
*hype of song determines how fast the car goes. For example, if your listening to a peace & quiet song, the car will go normal and smooth, but as soon as you put on that heavy metal rock or hardcore rap, the car will react to it and go faster! (This is what putting music and gaming is all about)
*Race your friend (who has a zune) using WiFi.
*Transport Zune quick playlist
*Free play
*Ramps to jump over
*One of the main menu options:raise or lower music volume
*Name your vehicle
=============================================
What does everbody think about that? Does anybody else have something good to add to the game?

I'm not a programmer or anything but I think this is out of the Zune's power to run things. If we are having troubles putting pokemon on the Zune we will most likely have problems with this.

Maybe if it has a 2d top down view it could be possible but thats ALOT of work. it'd take longer than pokemon. Not only would you need to know cars but factory stats than the modification stats of cars. diffrent companies that offer all the crap in games. just alot of stuff to reference and implement into the game. learn XNA and C# not to put you down or anything but the likeliness anyone would take this on is slim to none but i might be wrong, but i say if you want things done who better to take on the project than yourself, i men you know what you want out of the game better than anyone else. 20$ is a small price to pay for learning to do something for the rest of your life.

Actually, have you guys played NFS on one of the less high tech cell phones? I imagine it would work on the Zune if it could work on crap phones.

There's also a ti-83+ game I used to enjoy that is exactly what I'm talking about. Here's a screenshot

It's not 3D, but it has a neat perspective that makes it looks pseudo-3d, which is probably good enough for a game on the Zune. I'm not quite sure how it's done, but my guess is your car stays on the bottom of the screen while the background and environment scrolls through.

Now, I haven't looked at what's possible on the Zune given the apis and all that, but it definitely seems viable.

Again, if it can be done on a calc and cell phones, it can be done here.

I think its a good idea if anyone with going to try to make it. And I also have one of those not so hightech cellphones with a trial version of some racing game that resembles NFS. In my opinion GoldChase has better graphics and it seems possible for a NFS clone to run on the Zune.

I don't think it would work out well. And it wouldn't be any fun in 2d.

I think it could be fun in 2D. But in addition to what Ace said, you would also have to know the physics of cars for a game like that. Now THAT would take time...

sounds like a cool idea. which gave me a neato idea. how about a visualizer that randomly creates a track like visual that would decrease/increase in perceptive speed, depending on the intensity in the song. also add some form of input to navigate the camera left and right to simulate movement.

Doesn't necessarily have to be a track. a cave generating visualizer. i have it in my head, it's just a little hard to explain. Anyway, I hope this idea spawns some type of fun homebrew.

its meant to be a 3-d game i just dont see it on the zune as well as other games. no offense to your idea. but it just is a console game. like Halo, or gears of war, or GT, maybe its just me.

I was going to say the same thing: sounds like Audiosurf. It's free on Steam and it generates a track based on the song that's playing. Now how difficult that would be for someone to make for the Zune in their spare time is another issue! But the idea of the game changing to your music is an awesome concept and a great idea for something like the Zune.

I know it has been awhile since this has been talked about, but is this still not possible, because I love this game and it would be an award winner on the Zune. (to me and my friends that have Zunes if nobody else thinks so)
