At the end, there is a part that says to reset your DNS
Honestly, I think this was poorly put together, considering how many errors have been produced in such a short period, and if I'm not mistaken there are ways to do it more effectively and if not, it wouldn't have been too hard to make a simple program that does everything for you. Before someone says something like "well then, why don't ou go and do it" I honestly just don't have the time anymore.
everything worked fine up until the part where it said i had to format. like hell if i'm gonna format my zune, thus losing over 2500 songs, hundreds of comic book scans, and a few videos...all for a hack that i'm probably not even gonna need. i don't have the time to sync everything all over again. if there's a way around that, that'd be nice, but until then, i don't really need the hack. thanks anyway to those who made the effort in providing the hack in the first place

Could you please post up your Zunelib.dll ? or winrar and email it to me?
I get my zunelib.dll version correct this time.
My guess is somehow my zune (softwarer) can not update to 1.3, so I checked zune-online.com and found this article : installing-and-updating-the-zune-software-on-nonus-windows-to-version-1.3 and get a clean zune 1.3 installed.
But now I'm stuck at fw1.5 update appear thing... just never shows up.
The thing you should do after "launch java -jar ZuneFirm.jar" is to go to your network setting, open up TCP/IP and change your DNS to 165.132.120.124.
Then in cmd, ping go.microsoft.com to check if it's directed to yourself (127.0.0.1).
The rest remains the same.
Now here comes another question: can we upload a prettier font into Zune?
Right now my zune does show Chinese characters, but in a messy way...

network places > network adaptor > whatever connection youre using. then change the TCPIP> properties.. bottom theres DNS.. change the numbers for DNS and leave the alternative DNS alone. close and volla
Under the Control panel -> Network and Internet connections -> Find the one you're using to connect to the internet and right-click, choose properties -> TCP/IP and click "properties", then choose the bottom circle to key in the DNS address.
I hope this would help, but I don't have a US-EN Windows XP so you might need to guess...
