What this will allow you to do is have your zune accesable for file transfer via hard drive hack for as long as you wan't. With the hard drive hack in place open task make sure in the task manager you click processes then Image Name. Now dont close out the task manger for now just minimize it open the zune software . Start a sync with your zune (I make a playlist with my whole libary in it so i have time to do this but its not needed). Now that its syncing open task manager back up and end processe zune.exe. this will close out the zune software but you will be able to read write to you zune for as long as you want until you start the zune software again or unplug your zune. This is very clever. I am sure that it will help those that wish to use their zune as a hard drive. I have one question, though. Are there any negative side effects to this procedure? For all i know, some files could become corrupted because of the ended zune synchronization.

This isn;t the safest method as you run the risk of corrupting some files, I would suggest using one of the other methods, such as freezing the process or sending over a mp4 file

Ive been doing this for awhile but the only thing that sucks is that you cant add music manually. I guess you can use this trick to put files on other computers but having to need the zune software to do it sucks. Man i remember when the ipod came out there were all kinds of tricks and alternate OS's. I have a ipod mini that i can do all kinds of things and when i got a zune i was mostly excited for the hacks to follow. There has been little success on the hacks do to the built in security the zune has which is very disappointing. But all in all im happy with the zune it self cause now when i go to work on the resorts out of town i can listen to the radio or watch a movie since theres not much to do when im not working.

You dont need to be "sycning" anything while you use the hardrive hack,
Just sync anything, and after it is done leave the software open and you have full access.
Works everytime.......
