i've never done a hack on anything before so, Im a little confused. When I open the Multi-Extension Support Mod zip and double click on either of the files I am greeted w/ this message , "Not all data was sucessfully written to the registry. Some keys are open by the system or other processes." Does anyone know how to fix this/ any potential help is appreciated.

Open task manager, go to processes, click image name, go to the z's, close all processes starting with Zune.

Then try again

hello

a couple other people have posted that they have had problems getting this to work in Vista 64-bit, so I thought I'd chime in.

Vista x64 has two different segments to its registry, one for the 32-bit stuff and one for the 64-bit stuff. I've modified the registry files to add the entries to the correct section, and it works

you might have to run the original registry hack with this one for it to work correctly, im not sure. but with this new hack it works just fine under Vista x64

since it looks like I need some more posts so I can post a link, i'll be back with the link

EDIT: rather, I'll just tell the changes that need to be made:

first, as mentioned previously, the "C:\\Program Files\" lines need to be changed to "C:\\Program Files (x86)\"

then, all the registry entries need to be changed from "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft" to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft "

and then merge the files, and thats it!

Ok, after reading 7 pages of posts i think i may have an answer.

• First i am not responsible if you mess up your computer playing with the registry.
  
  Now here is what i did, first install the registry keys
  (the one on the place where you DL the initial file {registry1, and 2})
  
  Then DL windows media player 11 (WMP11), its free do it, and install it (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/win...1/default.aspx)
  
  then find the place in this post where it tells you how to modify the registry
  (where you have to search for windows media, and replace it with zune, or something like that),
  and follow that
  
  Then I DLed "K-Lite Codec Pack 3.4.5 Full, Standard and Basic" (http://www.free-codecs.com/download/...Codec_Pack.htm)
  (yes i know pity thinks this may be the problem, but it worked for me)
  
  After that restarted my zune software dragged the video over to the sync place and hit the start sync button, and BAM it worked

this is slow, but it is faster then the other way. thx a bunch pity, the program i have would not convert one movie and this did so now i am happy, and if anyone else found an alternate way please make a long post like this and explain what you did(step by step), dont say it worked after i changed this, please be helpful to others

Hi,

So yesterday i downloaded the .zip and unziped it to my desktop and noticed that there was only one file. so i added it to the registry, now when i drag over a movie .avi or w/e it will let me start to sync but then it will just say "Converting 0%" and after a few mins it will just say error and stop.... anyone have any ideas?

Running WinXP Pro SP2, DirectX 9, 1.5gb of ram, SoundBlaster Live! 24-bit sound card, Radeon 9250 256mb Video card

nope just tried to drag it into the folder in windows explorer it gave me " The file may be put on Zune for transport or storage only it is not supported for use on the device."
