This is not going to work, as the firmware in the Zune itself will not allow it. Even the known HDD hacks are not really changing the Zune firmware, it changes how the PC communicates with the Zune.
If you have HDD-based Zune, the only way around this is to pull out the drive and place it into a ZIF-based USB enclosure. You might want to check if anyone else has done this first, just to see if a 1.8" HDD will work with the USBLoader (I've done this will 2.5" notebook HDD, but not a 1.8" MP3 HDD).
