Hi, I downgraded my zune from 3.1 to 1.4, but I can't install the firmware with asian font. I followed this http://www.zuneboards.com/forums/hac...haracters.html and thishttp://www.zuneboards.com/forums/imp...-yourself.htmlbut it's no use. The old dns server died, but I set up my own dns server and I was able to ping go.microsoft.com to my ip address 127.0.0.1. The problem is everytime I try to update, the java server said new connection but it gave me a error: IOexception Stream closed. I did it about 50 times but no luck. I read somewhere that if the zune updated to firmware after 2.2, it won't able to be installed asian font set anymore. Is it true? If not, what did I do wrong? Please help me with this. I really one the asian font. 3/4 of my library was Japanese. I really don't want to rename all of them to roman. I tried to update but it always says the firmware is updated.

Finally, I got it to work. I must set up my own DNS server not redirect not only go.microsoft.com, but also media.zune.net, and msxb-d1.vo.llnw.net to my localhost.
The media.zune.net store the firmware information. That's why when I prompt to update, it said the firmware is updated, because it gets the command from media.zune.net to tells that. B*llsh!t Microsoft. After fooling all M$ server and making zune software thinks it has a update, I got an error like in the old tut, then I put the firmware in the temp folder and everything was alright. This was done by 2 PCs in same local network. One was DNS server, and the other was client. I can't get it to work on the same computer, maybe because the confliction in ports. I hope the author of this hack creates the DNS server to make things easier, cause I spent about 3 days finding and asking for help from the other forum but no luck. I decided to figure it myself. I thought that I have to disassemble my zune and buy the zif adapter for the HDD. This saves me $15 and I don't have to disassemble my zune. Yay!
Thank you although, no one helped me.

I got it working by set up my own DNS server on my local network. The old DNS server died. I must use 2 computers to do this. One is DNS server and one is client to update zune. I tried zune software and DNS server on the same machiene but it's not likely to work.
Thank you for everyone although no one helped me.
