Will the Hard Drive hack be available for 3.x anytime soon?
I use a zune pass, so i cant really downgrade unless i want to stop downloading music, and i have yet to even download half of what i want.
i was just wondering, if there would be a hard drive hack for 3.x comming anytime soon. for this one main reason
I bought my zune when they first came out, i had my Beastly 30g the christmas they came out. and i loved the thing. but i lost it a few months back, thinking somebody stole it while i fell asleep in class. =x long story short, i bought another 30g zune a month or so back, and then, found my old "stolen" one, so now i have 2 30 gig zunes, and want to take the old one and hack it up into a hard drive, but as previously stated, i have a problem doing so.
so once again, just asking simple if anyone knows when and if a 3.x hard drive hack is on its way or not
Hopefully someone will find a way to hack it eventually. Right now there isn't a way. Since you have a 30, you could try downgrading.. (and keep the other up to date, so you can play games)
quick question for anyone who might be able to answer, if i used the button combination to completely clear my Old zune, firmware and all, and then connected it using the Auto Unlocker, would it still show up, able to be used as a hard drive?
I would just sell the extra 30GB on eBay, and then take that money towards an external HDD. You'll end up increasing your disk space, too - you could probably get at least a 160GB USB drive with that money.
As for wiping the firmware and then trying to connect that way -- I've never tried it. But again, you'd probably be better off selling what you have and getting an eternal HDD, instead. Even if this worked, you're basically crippling the device for only one use.
well like i said, i have 2 30 gigs, and 30 is more than enough for me. so im not to concerned about "Crippling the Device" and even if it wouldnt work, I'd still keep it just for the extra storage, should i ever actually run out of space in my new zune
Edit: But hey, i'll give it a try and see how it worksz out, if worse comes to worse, i'll reinstall the firmware and end up with 2 zunes =/
i realize what he's saying, im just not all that interested in selling it is all
meh, i ended up putting the firmware back in, because it just plain couldnt even be recognized without it, but when i pull it up in windows explorer, and try to add something in, i get an error saying "You Dont have permission to do that"
