Default Problems with Portable Zune software
When i put the portable software onto a memory stick, and then try to run it on a computer without the zune software installed, i get this error:
Application has generated an exception that could not be handled
Process ID=0xa98(2712), Thread ID=0x2f4(756)
Press ok to terminate press cancel to debug.
When i press cancel i get:
The exception unknown software exception (0xc06d007f) occured in the application at location 0x77e4bee7.
Anyone help?

Sorry, I dont think many people here have experience with Zune Portable, it is still very new

What are you running it on?

windows server 2003 (similar to xp) i tried it on an xp machine too, and it has the same thing. I think its a problem with not having the zune software previously installed on the computer. Everyone who tried it with zune already installed said it worked.

you need to have the latest .net on the computer, and one more then it seems to not connect to the device

i have the latest .net on the computer. There was however an additional problem with the OS. Zune software is not supposed to be used on the server 2003 OS, but there is a workaround:
Installing Zune software on Windows Server 2003 SP2 (x86) - Within Windows
That was not the original problem though. It still doesnt work on an xp or windows server 2003 machine without the zune software already installed.
