Default ZuneHDPatch 3.0 Failed

Hi

The patch failed with my Zune, so i still cannot back up my large music collection. Copy To Device does not work, either. Any suggestions? I do have Zune 3.1 but it says the patch should work on all versions. I really need to back my music up!

It actually only works on 2.5 and lower. Check the forums for a guide on how to downgrade. You can trick the software into installing the 2.5 firmware, at which point you can back up and then reupgrade.

I can't downgrade, cause the software is at 3.1 and some people said the downgrade will crash the Zune because of that. There's a video on youtube claiming to hack the 3.1, but only on XP. Does anyone know if that works?

There;s a few steps that you have to change for a device other than the zune 30. Those steps are listed in posts 28, 30, and 35

Even if I do downgrade, when i plug the zune into the computer won't the software get messed up?

thanks for the reply though.

And I am not sure about downgrading still, not comfortable erasing my whole collection and assuming it will come back. My Zune hasn't worked right since day 1, with my luck my songs will all be gone.

And not to be a pain but that walkthrough IS for XP. Vista does not have "Run".

Vista actually does have "Run"

Click on the start menu, then type "Run" into the search box. It's there.

Your music SHOULD come back, if you monitor the right folders.
